GREETING and OPENING PRAYER
St. Paul’s United Methodist Church
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, the
communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
Response: And also with you.
Let us pray:
Shine into our hearts the light of your wisdom, Oh God, and
open our minds to the knowledge of your word, that in all things
we may think and act according to your good will and may live
continually in the light of your son Jesus Christ, who lives and
reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.
Amen

PRAYERS of THE PEOPLE
HYMN of REFLECTION.
“We Are Called”
Let us pray
Rejoicing in the light of Christ that shines upon us, we
pray for the church, the world and all according to their needs.
Blessed are you, Oh God, for the salvation revealed in the face
of Christ. Reveal the glory of your loving presence in this
congregation and fill our hearts with songs of praise.
Blessed are you for the earth that brings forth new life in due
season. We give thanks for our bounty.
Blessed are you for the hope you send among nations. Stir
leaders to act with righteousness and peace that all nations will
see your glory.
Blessed are you for coming to us in our weakness. Shower
healing and hope on all for whom the future seems to hold more
threat than promise, the discouraged, the weary, the sick …and
all those we name out loud or in the quiet of our hearts.
Hear the hopes and prayers of our hearts, Oh God, and magnify
our joy at the reign of your light among us, Jesus Christ.
Amen
